Strawberry guava is a quick and generous fruiter, often bearing within three years from a container-grown plant. The small, dark red fruits have a fragrant strawberry-guava flavour that is wonderful fresh or in jam. It is self-fertile and relatively compact, making it a good conservatory or greenhouse plant in cooler climates. In tropical and subtropical areas it can become invasive, so check local guidance. Remarkably pest-free compared to other tropical fruit.
